The Protectorate

Note Printing Australia were looking for ways to re-engage with local communities through opening the print works to high school children across the state. The objective was not only to educate and encourage children to consider careers in the industry, but also to give Note Printing Australia's staff and management yet another aspect of the business of which they could feel proud.

What we did

Next Brand conceptualised the entire museum, creating the brand identity (The Protectorate), all artwork graphics and installations throughout the museum, the supporting literature and videos, the music and audio effects and generally designed the entire physical experience.

The museum was divided into five colour coded zones. This allowed us to structure the journey for the visitors by giving them varied experiences and points of interest. Since Note Printing Australia also prints Australia's passports, each visitor receives a 'Passbook' which which thy can travel from zone to zone collecting custom designed stamps along the way.

Activities such as puzzles or games made from recycled banknotes allow visitors to engage with the subject matter whilst learning about the industry and its processes.

Custom designed booths were installed to show off banknote special features.
